What our Participants Say

"I really appreciate that Dr. Retrouvey values the basics and foundation of orthodontics. This is the only course I found that started from a very systemic approach to the subject."

- Dr. Tina C.

"Over the years I have attended many different courses. Some of them are focused on a specific topic, but most of them are organized by different companies and have a clear bias. Courses that give you knowledge about the patient's exam, diagnosis, and treatment plan, and the way of understanding ... all of this is a rarity, giving every detail the attention it deserves.

- Dr. Michaila N.

Such an amazing lecture by a humble and knowledgeable Professor in Orthodontics, Prof Dr Jean-Marc Retrouvey, this evening. The number of attendees was booming and we hosted more than 1000 orthodontists and residents from all the inhabited continents across the world.

What Will You Learn in

Interceptive Orthodontics?

The objectives of module 3 are to show that a good comprehension of the normal development of the primary, mixed, and permanent dentition are essential.

Once normal development is understood, then recognizing abnormal patterns of development and their influence on future dental and skeletal patterns will help the practitioner rationale the benefit of early intervention or of postponing treatment until the permanent dentition.

It will also allow the practitioner to judge if referring to an orthodontic clinic is preferable as the case is more difficult than what initially assessed.

Orthodontic Management of Moderate Malocclusions, a 6-module course.

Orthodontic Diagnosis and Treatment Planning - Theoretical (Module 1A) | Orthodontic Diagnosis and Treatment Planning - Applied (Module 1B) | Introduction to Orthodontic Biomechanics - Clinical Applications (Module 2) | Interceptive Orthodontics (Module 3)  | Most Common Malocclusions (Module 4)  | Adult Orthodontics - Aligner Therapy (Module 5)

What Follows Interceptive Orthodontics (Module 3)?

In the next module, Most Common Malocclusions (Module 4) the most common malocclusions are described, as well as the most common and efficient approaches to deal with the problem presented.

These descriptions are general in nature but help the practitioner better understand the correct sequence of treatment required to optimize the planned orthodontic treatment.

The treatment approaches are based on the application of a sound diagnosis, a well-developed problem list, and a correctly formulated force system sequence.

A mechanistic approach where all malocclusions are approached in the same manner with the same mechanics is not the most appropriate method to treat malocclusions of different etiologies, and these wire sequence concepts are not described in this course.

In the next Module 4, Most Common Malocclusions, participants will learn to:

  • Diagnose the most common malocclusions
  • Correctly present a differential diagnosis of the most common malocclusions
  • Create a problem list to address these malocclusions
  • Understand the most appropriate biomechanical system to address these malocclusions
  • Prescribe the correct appliances needed
  • Describe the most appropriate technique to resolve the studied malocclusion

How Many Modules are in the Orthodontic Management of Moderate Malocclusions Course?

Orthodontists may take any module as a stand-alone course.
